The fact that there’s not a *single fucking mention* of the pigs’ welfare is sickening.

Image: Pig farm workers push live pigs into a large grave in Nipah in 1999. To stop the outbreak, the Malaysian government culled almost 1 million pigs, nearly destroying the country’s pork industry.

The UK continues to import egg powder from India, despite battery cages being outlawed here in 2012. UK companies have no legal obligation to label products containing eggs from caged hens – whether imported from countries using battery cages or from UK farms using so-called enriched cages – as is required on boxes of eggs.
Animal Equality India is calling on the state governments to enforce the ban on battery cages.
In the UK we are calling on all food companies to eliminate eggs from caged hens in their products. Most products can easily be made cruelty-free by simply replacing egg powder with one of the many commercially available egg-free binders (like Orgran Egg Replacer), many of which are cheaper than egg powder.
